Reverend
David C. Fisher
Reverend David Fisher has been a parish pastor for
thirty-eight years. After graduating from seminary, he
learned the pastoral craft in a decade of ministry in rural
America. He has also served suburban and urban congregations
in Minneapolis and Boston. In 2004, Plymouth Church called
him to serve as its 10th “Settled Minister.”
A graduate of Bryan College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity
School, Reverend Fisher earned his Ph.D. in New Testament
Interpretation at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He has also done additional graduate studies at Hebrew Union
College and Indiana University. His academic specialty is
the Jewish background of early Christianity. He has served
as Instructor of New Testament at The Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary and as Adjunct Professor of New
Testament at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Nearly
forty years in pastoral ministry has honed a deep interest
the theology and practice of the Christian ministry. He is a
frequent speaker at clergy and denominational gatherings and
has written numerous articles and a monograph, The
Twenty-First Century Pastor: A Vision Based on the Apostle
Paul (Zondervan, 1996).
He also has a life-long interest in preaching and the craft
of preaching. In 2001 he served as a Fellow of College of
Preachers at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.,
where he did research and writing on the New Homiletic.
The son of a pastor, David and his wife, Gloria, have three
grown children and six grandchildren. His hobbies are
motorcycling and gardening. |
Reverend Phil Jackson
Pastor Phil was called to be the Senior Minister at First
Church in February of 2003. Prior to coming to Yarmouth
Port, he has served churches in Malta, Montana; Green Bay,
Wisconsin; and Hanson, Massachusetts. Previous to Yarmouth
Port he served as the Associate Secretary of the National
Association of Congregational Christian Churches and lived
in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Phil is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in
South Hamilton, Massachusetts and has done extensive
Doctoral work at Hartford Seminary.
He has been married to his wife Michelle for 27 years and
they have two grown children. Pastor Phil makes the most of
Cape Cod by fishing, kayaking and swimming. |

Dr. David C. Fisher
– is the senior pastor of The Church of the Pilgrims in Brooklyn,
New York. He was formerly senior pastor of Colonial Church in
Edina, MN and Park Street Church in Boston, MA. He is the author of
21st Century Pastor.
Jamie Green
– originally from Beloit, WI (1st Cong’l Church), now a
student at Harvard Divinity School and pastor of Christian Union
Church in Groton, MA. In 2006, she was the recipient of a Ministry
Fellowship that enabled her to research youth ministries in the U.S.
Jamie is on track to graduate in 2009 with an MDiv and a certificate
in Youth and Young Adult Ministries from the Boston Theological
Inst.
Dr.
Manfred W. Kohl
– since 1994, vice-president for International Development for
Overseas Council International, a Christian organization dedicated
to training national leaders in the majority world. Dr. Kohl is
formerly the pastor of the First Congregational Church of
Middleboro, MA and he has been active in the International
Congregational Fellowship since its inception.
Dr.
Barbara M. Kohl
– is an accomplished educator and counselor. She has spoken
extensively around the world on family issues, the roles of men and
women and particularly on teen sexuality and sex education. She and
her husband, Manfred, live in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Dr.
Arthur Rouner, Jr.
– after 40 years of pastoral ministry, is the founder the Pilgrim
Center for Reconciliation, Edina, MN. In addition to an active
speaking schedule, Dr. Rouner travels frequently to Africa where he
conducts healing retreats.
Dr.
Jeffrey Jones
– is the pastor of First Baptist Church in Plymouth, MA. He is also
the Director of Distance Learning at Andover Newton Theological
Seminary. He has pastured churches in New Jersey and New York and
served on the national staff of the American Baptist Churches. He
has authored several books including:
Traveling Together: A Guide for Disciple-Forming Congregations.
Dr.
Steven A. Peay
– is the senior minister of the First Congregational Church of
Wauwatosa, WI, having previously served as the senior minister of
Heritage Congregational Church in Madison, WI. Dr. Peay comes from
a rich educational background in history, systematic theology,
rhetoric/communication, philosophy, and he shares a burning passion
for the Congregational Way.
Dr.
Richard Keyes
– Dick Keyes has been the director of L’Abri Fellowship in
Southborough, MA since 1979. Formerly the pastor of International
Presbyterian Church in London, he continues to teach and write. His
books include: Chameleon Christianity: Moving Beyond Safety
and Conformity.
